School Site Manager

This is a full-time position and is responsible to the Bursar. The school is looking for a proactive, experienced site manager who is responsible for a range of duties relating to the security, operations, facilities management and monitoring of the school site in addition to the management and supervisions of contractors. The successful candidate will lead the premises team and ensure that the school buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standard ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation to provide a safe working environment for the school community.
Responsibilities
Typical tasks will include but are not limited to:
Day to Day School Operations
Manage the site maintenance staff.
Deal with day-to-day facilities issues, ensuring jobs are prioritised and appropriate staff are deployed to resolve any issues.
Act as the main point of liaison for events organised by the parents association.
Responsible for ensuring the premises staff, kitchen staff and cleaners are aware of onsite activities and their responsibilities in respect of these events, aiding where necessary.
Within the ethos of our charitable aims, researching and procuring goods and services.
Organise the maintenance and management of the five school minibuses.
Liaise with the sports department and extracurricular co-ordinator for provision of minibuses and drivers where necessary.
Maintain and update the maintenance plan.
Appointing contractors to complete regular servicing work in conjunction with the annual maintenance plan.
To stock take and order school supplies mainly washroom and cleaning products.
To attend to any emergency call outs including on weekends – fire alarms, burglar alarms, queries from school neighbours.
To ensure the schools is locked and unlocked when required and the site is secure at all times.
To work with the bursar to ensure the site can be utilised for commercial lettings
To seek quotes and estimates from school contractors for all repairs and work required.
To closely maintain the swimming pool and plant room to ensure the pool can be used by pupils and external hirers.
Project Management
Responsibility for maintaining the fabric of the school buildings including implementing the agreed programme of works.
Act as the main point of contact for external contractors.
In conjunction with the Bursar and Headmaster agree holiday schedule of works, write scope of works, obtain quotes and appoint contractors.
Working with the premises team, extra curricular co-ordinator and cleaners to organise the holiday maintenance schedules.
Health and Safety Management and Procedures
Checking and maintaining site compliance with legislation and regulations, and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
Actively working to make sure that pupils, staff and visitors are safe while on the school premises.
Responsible for arranging annual testing schedule including PAT testing.
In conjunction with the Compliance officer prepare risk assessments.
Complete the termly Health and Safety walk with the Bursar and designated Governor.
Periodically review the pool operating procedures and ensure these are being adhered too.
Ensure emergency procedures are up to date and communicated.
Responsible for the school's fire policy in conjunction with the Bursar, this includes acting as the main point of contact for the fire support company, ensuring that weekly testing is completed and log books updated.
In conjunction with the bursar arrange the annual fire risk assessment and ensure action points are followed up.
Create an H&S audit plan and carry out regular internal audits.
Lasing with Deputy Head and Compliance Officer to ensure professional development training is organised and kept up to date for all facilities staff.
Co-ordinate the follow up to any accidents, incidents or near misses relating to the school site.
Ensure external hirers and contractors are aware and abide by school's health and safety policy.
Attend Health and Safety Committee meetings.

Pay: £36,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
