Barlborough S PT, United Kingdom Autocraft Motorcaravans LTD Full time £25,400 - £27,400 per year

About Autocraft Motor Caravans

Autocraft Motor Caravans is a family-owned SME, specialising in campervan conversions. We have two streams of revenue:

  • We buy, convert and sell campervans.
  • We supply conversion parts & accessories, to both the trade and public, so people can convert their own vans.

Over the last four years we have experienced year-on-year growth in sales and, as a result, our site has got larger and we have recruited a bigger team. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a customer orientated individual to join our expanding team.

About the Role

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and professional In-store Sales Executive. This position will be the first point of contact for all our existing and returning customers, and new prospective customers.

The successful candidate will work on the parts & accessories side of the business and help us continue to grow our sales to both trade customers and the public. Our customers range from seasoned campervan building companies that know exactly what they need to DIY enthusiast beginners who require direction and product knowledge support. If you are successful, then your job will be to make sure all of our customers have a positive shopping experience which will in turn lead to continued growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience in selling. A background or interest in campervans and motorhomes would be a huge bonus, but not essential. We are looking for somebody confident speaking face-to-face with customers, driven and comfortable advising customers on products and upselling where appropriate. Product training will be given.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Act as the first point of contact for customers coming into store, offering useful product advice in a professional and personable manner.

  2. Process in-store orders, inputting products through our till system, and taking payments.

  3. Increase in-store sales by recommending similar and/or additional products to up-sell when appropriate.

  4. Field customer product enquiries and respond helpfully in a timely manner to maximise sales.

  5. Liaise with suppliers and other external stakeholders to find out product details and supporting information, installation guides, lead times and/or prices.

  6. Manage relationships with Key Account customers to ensure we retain high-spending customers.

  7. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and either resolve the query, connect the caller on to the relevant member of staff or follow up accordingly.

  8. Field incoming emails and communicate with customers professionally with a view to convert general queries into sales.

  9. Feedback commonly requested products and frequently asked questions to our Marketing Team so they can improve information online or in-store and expand the product portfolio, or develop new kits from existing products to enhance the shopping experience.

  10. Update and maintain useful documents on our company file system, such as but not limited to, ongoing warranty documents, our media library, sales reports, installation guides etc.

  11. You may be asked on occasion to help with other departments as demand shifts throughout the year, this could include helping our stores department organise stock locations and review procedures to operate more efficiently, stock taking, occasionally helping out with large delivery loads, ordering stock, inputting stock levels into our stock management system, checking competitor pricing or even help with the altering of the premises.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. You will also be required to work at least one Saturday per month (9am – 2pm) which is classed as overtime and paid at x1.5 rate. You may occasionally be required to work outside of these hours, for example, with trade shows and exhibitions (typically not more than three times a year) or for our annual stock take (once a year). Any hours outside of the typical working hours will be paid at x1.5 rate.
