Your New Role
Ideally based in Melbourne, with expressions of interest open to Sydney talent, the Product and Technical Lead – Property and Packages will be the senior technical expert driving product and underwriting excellence. You will shape strategy, deliver innovative solutions and act as the trusted referral point for complex underwriting decisions. This role ensures Guild remains competitive and compliant while enabling frontline teams with clear guidelines, tools and training to make confident customer-focused decisions. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise in Commercial Property general insurance.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the design and delivery of product and underwriting initiatives that support profitable growth
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to portfolio managers
  • Act as the senior referral point for complex and large account underwriting
  • Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, manuals and templates
  • Drive continuous improvement in underwriting processes and enablement programs
  • Collaborate across specialist functions and portfolio teams to deliver strategic objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Guild's underwriting policy

What you'll bring / skills and experience

  • Deep technical expertise in Commercial Property and SME Business Packages
  • Proven ability to demonstrate leadership and knowledge of product development and underwriting governance
  • Experience managing complex underwriting referrals and coaching teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to design and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
