The Woodshed Takeaway at Lowden Garden Centre offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, serving a selection of fresh sandwiches, toasties, hot & cold drinks, and delicious cakes & pastries to our customers. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food and exceptional service, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to manage the day-to-day operations of the takeaway.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking employee to run our Woodshed Takeaway, working Wednesday to Sunday with one weekend off per month. You will be responsible for preparing sandwiches, ensuring the counter is consistently stocked, and providing friendly service to customers. This role requires someone who is organised, customer-focused, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assemble fresh sandwiches daily, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Keep the takeaway counter stocked with sandwiches, cakes, and drinks throughout the day.
  • Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders and handling transactions at the till. As well as preparing hot teas & coffees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Woodshed Takeaway, ensuring all food is stored and handled safely.
  • Monitor stock levels, manage inventory
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling any customer queries or issues with a positive attitude.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing duties, including setting up and closing down the takeaway area.
  • Work closely with the rest of the Lowden Garden Centre restaurant team to maintain a seamless customer experience.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time and work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (training can be provided).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during busy periods.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with attention to detail.
  • Basic till and cash handling experience.

Working Hours:

  • 5 days a week, Wednesday to Sunday.
  • One weekend off per month.
