We're on the lookout for an E-Commerce Trading Specialist with a commercial mindset and a customer-first approach. You'll support day-to-day trading by keeping pricing accurate and competitive, building and updating merchandising across categories and product pages, and helping ensure the journey from first click to delivery runs smoothly across markets. You'll work under guidance from the Head of Digital, with opportunities to be cross-functional across other marketplaces (Amazon, eBay), helping you build broader skills and accelerate your career growth.

You'll also contribute to our very own in-house microbrand, Cestrian Watches. We've earned a loyal following and strong sales over the last few years. It's now backed by significant investment with new collections launching soon—giving you hands-on exposure to product launches, campaign planning, and brand development alongside our multi-brand retail business.

The Opportunity

We're at a genuinely exciting point: a fresh move from WooCommerce to Shopify, new brands joining the portfolio, and major launches ahead for Cestrian Watches. This role sits at the centre of that growth—blending trading, merchandising, and customer experience—ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, understands e-commerce dynamics, and proactively spots opportunities that convert into sales.

You'll get hands-on exposure to the full trading stack and the chance to work cross-functionally across other marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, etc.) to broaden your skill set and accelerate your career. Expect real ownership while seeing your decisions show up in the numbers.

We offer hybrid working—typically 3 days in our Chester HQ/store and 2 days remote—available after successful completion of probation and subject to role needs and a reasonable commuting distance. We're a Home Office–licensed sponsor and, where appropriate, can consider Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Pricing

• Update and maintain product pricing, tags, collections through the website
• Check competitor pricing and flag changes/opportunities
• Assist with promotions, bundles, and seasonal updates
• Track sales performance to identify high-potential products and slow movers

Site Merchandising & Content

• Create and optimise product listings (titles, descriptions, images, specs, metadata).
• Merchandise category pages and homepage banners to highlight priority products.
• Keep "New In", promotional and seasonal content fresh and accurate.
• Perform QC checks after changes (links, images, mobile view).

Customer Experience (Support)

• Handle customer queries primarily via email (plus live chat/phone when needed).
• Provide clear info on orders, delivery, returns and product details.
• Feed recurring questions back into improved onsite content/FAQs.

Marketing Support

• Prepare assets for website imagery, banners, landing pages, product pages
• Assist with email newsletter prep (product picks, links, copy proofing).
• Produce and schedule social media posts across platforms ensuring content is on-brand and optimised for engagement.
• Support Google Ads/Shopping hygiene (titles, GTINs, feed checks) under guidance.

Performance & Reporting

• Track daily/weekly sales, stock and promo results; compile reports.
• Use data (GA/Shopify dashboards) to spot issues and propose next actions.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• At least 1-year previous e-commerce or trading experience in a retail environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with a natural instinct for pricing and sales opportunities.
• Confident working with spreadsheets, data, and performance metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, solution-focused mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience handling customers via email, live chat, or similar channels.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

• Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
• Knowledge of watches, jewellery, FMCG or other consumer luxury goods.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Excel reporting, or other analysis tools.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
