Quality Manager (3 days a week) - Pathology Services We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Pathology service based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary range on offer. Job Profile The post-holder is a key member of the pathology management team charged with the design, implementation, maintenance and advocacy of the pathology quality management system. Reporting in to the Head of Quality, Safety and Compliance for pathology, they will support in managing the QMS, ensure its maintenance and report to laboratory management on its functioning and effectiveness.The postholders key duties will include leading on the implementation of Q-Pulse modules. Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 3 days per weekon site.

To collateand analyse quality datato identify tends and performance issues To be familiar with the area of work for which they are responsible, including relevant statutory and accreditation requirements, governance, risk management, audit and CAPA programmes, pathology department policies and procedures. To educate and train pathology staff in quality principles and practice.

To maintain the pathology department's quality manual. To operate an effective system for document control. To investigate result and service complaints and incidents and ensure that effective immediate and follow-up actions are taken. Work with operational leads to maintain the departmental risk register To oversee a program of internal audits against defined quality performance measures and ensure that effective follow-up actions are taken.

To follow up on external inspections and verify the completion of corrective action as required by the reports of the inspectors. To monitor the requirements of pathology users and ensure that they are reflected within defined quality performance measures. To provide support and advice for discipline managers (and quality leads on quality management matters. To identify areas and particular projects where there is the potential for improvement of quality to the benefit of the service provided.

To represent pathology at departmental or hospital meetings as appropriate. To supervise effectively personnel seconded from other sections of the pathology department to assist with the management of the QMS. Scientific and technical To ensure that policies and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where relevant, to support on the evaluation and verification of new equipment and tests and advise on the quality implications of the introduction of such.

To ensure change management procedures are followed. To maintain an up-to-date awareness and knowledge of current developments in quality management and to ensure robust communication streams so that this knowledge can be shared with all staff. Budgetary and finance To be aware of the revenue implications of departmental policy. To ensure that the quality management system is operated as economically as possible in providing an effective service.

Skills & Experience At least 2 years working in a quality function. Knowledge of biochemistry, haematology, blood transfusion, histopathology and microbiology disciplines. Extensive implementing Q Pulse applications. Experience with KPI management, definition and collation.
