Laboratory Technician – Medimab Biotherapeutics

About Us

Medimab Biotherapeutics (fully owned subsidiary of MediMabBio, headquartered in South Korea) is a growing biotech company developing next-generation immunotherapies. Our UK site focuses on early discovery and experimental research, and we are looking for a proactive Laboratory Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations and basic experimental work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage deliveries: receive, log, and distribute lab consumables and reagents.
  • Maintain laboratory stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Keep accurate records using internal systems (e.g., stock management tools).
  • Assist with general lab housekeeping, including equipment cleaning, waste disposal, and maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Participate in routine lab audits and documentation.

  • Support upkeep of core laboratory equipment (e.g., incubators, freezers, centrifuges, water baths, pipettes).

  • Liaise with external engineers and service providers for repairs or scheduled maintenance.

  • Assist with simple experiments such as preparing reagents, buffers, and media.

  • Basic cell culture support under supervision.
  • Assist researchers with routine laboratory procedures.

Communication & Coordination

  • Work closely with research staff, the head of research, and the wider team to support operational needs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and technical representatives for quotes and purchasing.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding outstanding tasks and laboratory priorities.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates may qualify either with a BSc in a life science discipline or with a Level 3 laboratory-related qualification (e.g., BTEC Applied Science, Level 3 Laboratory Technician Certificate, NVQ Level 3, or a completed Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship).
  • Strong record-keeping skills, particularly in experimental work, inventory tracking, and ordering processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn in a dynamic workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous wet-lab experience.
  • Experience with basic lab techniques.
  • Familiarity with HSE, COSHH, or lab safety.
  • Experience in a UK research or biotech lab.
