About the Role
We are seeking a Materials Testing Technician to join our growing laboratory team, specialising in asphalt, concrete, and soil testing. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and an interest in construction materials and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out testing of asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils to relevant British/European standards (BS/EN).
- Prepare, sample, and test materials in both laboratory and site environments.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.
- Maintain calibration and cleanliness of testing equipment.
- Follow all quality assurance and health & safety procedures.
- Support senior technicians and engineers with project testing requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a materials testing laboratory (asphalt, concrete, or soils) preferred but not essential — full training can be provided.
- Good understanding of BS EN and UKAS testing procedures advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence (site work may be required).
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
