Job description

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic Business Change Team as Business Change Lead. The role will offer you a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of transformation with senior internal and external stakeholders and to lead the team in delivering significant operational benefits and transformational change.

Data Services and Analytics consist of technical and non-technical professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, we are the hub of data expertise within the department. We support our teams with structured learning, both formal and on-the-job, mentoring and feedback.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide visible and effective leadership by developing a clear vision for Business Change.
  • Champion best practice business change management whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of change across the department and prioritise resources effectively.
  • Build capability within the team through coaching and motivation to achieve high performance.
  • Collaborate with key external Stakeholders, the Benefits Manager and Project Managers to ensure benefits are realised and new capabilities are adopted.
  • Understand the impact of the change ensuring effective mitigations are in place to enable a seamless transition to business as usual.
  • Lead the development of the project communications plan, ensuring alignment with stakeholder and project needs.
  • Identify, analyse and manage stakeholders through a robust engagement plan, ensuring strong relationships with senior stakeholders and internal and external networks are built and maintained.
  • Lead a small team of Business change Managers.

Working pattern

Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.

Essential criteria

You will demonstrate a passion for Business Change and possess the following skills or proven experience:

  • Must have significant relevant experience in business change management within large transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrates inclusive leadership in complex environments, using sound judgment to deliver strategic outcomes and motivate high-performing, diverse teams.
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively across varied audiences, ensuring accessibility and understanding of complex information.
  • Applies recognised change management approaches to assess and mitigate impacts, supporting smooth transitions for colleagues and customers.
  • Leads effective stakeholder engagement strategies, fostering collaboration and securing buy-in from senior leaders to enable successful change.
  • Defines and evaluates business readiness criteria to ensure inclusive and efficient implementation of change initiatives.
  • Maintains a benefits-led approach, ensuring measurable value and positive outcomes for all impacted groups.
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring geographically dispersed teams, with a commitment to developing talent and promoting equal opportunities.

  • Experience of leading complex and high-profile change initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into easily digestible information, adapting style to the audience.
