Job Purpose:

To lead by example and provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and/or complex support requirements in a supported living setting. The Team Leader will support both frontline delivery ("on the floor") and office functions to ensure the smooth running of the service and high standards of Support and compliance.

To Work with the Manager, assisting where needed with the day-to-day running of the service and covering managerial duties when the manager is absent or annual leave.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, support and motivate a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding support.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor during support shifts.
  • Provide regular supervision, conduct spot checks, and contribute to performance appraisals.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction and training of new staff.

On-the-Floor Support

  • Provide direct support to service users, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion.
  • Support service users with daily living tasks such as prompting personal care, meal preparation, medication, and community access.
  • Manage challenging behaviours using a person-centred and trauma-informed approach.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety protocols are always followed.

Office-Based Duties

  • Help with rota planning, shift cover, and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Assist with writing and updating support plans and risk assessments.
  • Monitor MAR charts, incident reports, and daily logs to ensure accuracy and compliance. Be responsible for medication administration. This will include clear and accurate booking in systems, as well as following medication return policies and auditing of residents replenished medications.
  • Liaise with external professionals, families, and stakeholders where needed.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Support audits and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to action plans and service improvements.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed consistently.

On-Call & Emergency Support

  • Participate in the on-call rota to provide advice and support to staff out-of-hours.
  • Respond to emergencies or staffing issues as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £13.20 per hour
