Military / Industrial Disease Solicitor – Manchester

HarKaye are representing a leading law firm who are seeking an experienced
Military / Industrial Disease Solicitor
to join their specialist team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value cases, with a particular focus on claims against the Ministry of Defence, alongside a caseload of industrial disease matters.

The Role

You will take individual responsibility for a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated files, primarily focused on military claims, including Noise Induced Hearing Loss and other service-related injuries. In addition, you will manage both Short Tail and Long Tail Industrial Disease cases, handling matters of significant complexity and value. This is a varied role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent litigation knowledge, and the ability to balance a busy caseload while providing outstanding client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of complex and high-value military claims and industrial disease cases.
  • Applying strong technical knowledge of personal injury litigation, CPR, and relevant legislation.
  • Drafting court documents, preparing cases for hearings, and attending CCMCs.
  • Delivering high standards of client service while working to targets and deadlines.
  • Demonstrating strong advocacy, fact-finding, and decision-making skills.
  • Working proactively and commercially to contribute to team profitability.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience handling military claims and/or industrial disease cases.
  • Experience in managing complex, high-value Fast Track and Multi-Track litigation.
  • Excellent knowledge of CPR and relevant case law.
  • Skilled in drafting court documents and confident in advocacy.
  • Strong understanding of cost budgeting and CCMCs.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent client care.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with case management systems (ideally Proclaim).
  • A strong team player with determination, assertiveness, and the drive to achieve results.
