Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking an Insurance Solicitor or Associate to join our Insurance (Industrial Disease claims) team at our Manchester Office. This role is full time role, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm. As an Industrial Disease claims Solicitor, you will handle a case load of noise induced hearing loss and HAVS files while assisting a partner with a caseload of high value claims including asbestos related disease claims. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.ResponsibilitiesManaging a varied case load of Industrial Disease matters, including:Noise Induced Hearing LossHand Arm Vibration SyndromeClaims for Asbestos Related conditions including mesotheliomaAsthmaDermatitisWork related stressAttending/representing at Court / Tribunal hearings for a wide variety of hearingsProvision of expert legal advice and strategic guidance to clientsEnsuring profitability and the successful attainment of all KPIs including time recording, financial management, and service deliveryAccurate completion of legal tasks and documentation, within the Solicitor's area of expertise; this may include legal research analysis, drafting, and calculation of financial liabilityAnalyse legal matters, assessing risks, and determining case strategiesNegotiating, mediating, or litigating to achieve optimal client outcomesCollaborate on complex cases with Senior Associates and PartnersDelivery of exceptional client care and maintain clear and effective communicationRepresent clients in court or liaise with counsel as neededEnsuring compliance with internal and external business requirements including ISO:9001 quality control, SRA Principles / Code of Conduct, and Court & Tribunal deadlinesStaying current and up to date with legal developments through ongoing CPDBuilding positive relationships with current/prospective clients and enhancing the Firm's profile, to drive business growthQualificationsBe qualified Solicitor or CILEX with at least 1-5 years PQEExperience of working within defendant Insurance, primarily working within Industrial disease claimsExperience conducting their own advocacy/attending courts/tribunalsProven experience of handling own caseload, working to and managing deadlines, alongside the capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targetsExperience using legal case management systems (e.g., PfW) to support the delivery of servicesDemonstrates good client care skills, providing professional and competent legal advice in accordance with SRA Code of ConductExcellent attention to detail, including proof-reading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and quality of legal documentsDemonstrates the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlinesDemonstrates the ability to work as part of a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external partiesDemonstrates excellent IT skills and the ability to use multiple platforms such as word, excel, outlook and other case management systems/databasesAligns with the Firm's valuesDesirablePrevious experience with Business Development activities, with the ability to network with potential clients and introduce them to the FirmIf you are interested in this role or in joining Forbes Solicitors, please review the Full Role Profile on our website.At Forbes Solicitors, we believe in creating a supportive and collaborative environment where our team members can thrive and develop themselves and others.
