The M40 motorway is just over 123kms (about 76.43 mi) long, linking London and the M25 with Birmingham, with high traffic levels ranging from 90,000 to 140,000 daily. The contract is for routine O&M services, and provision of a dedicated incident response unit. There are 110+ staff across 3 depots. The contract also includes the management of road incidents, road availability / road-space bookings, and running Network Control Centre NCC).

Reporting to the ERO M40 Business Administration Manager, the Finance Administrator will
primarily
be responsible for recording of data and collation of evidential work records to support a cost recovery from third parties who cause damage to the M40 network.

The Finance Administrator may also provide cover for other members of the Business Admin Department to build resilience within the team when colleagues are on leave.

The overall function of the department is to provide support to the wider team in procurement, Accounts Payable, Facilities Management, Payroll, HR, Training and Fleet so experience in any of these areas would be of benefit.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideally, should be able to demonstrate relevant experience of technical administration and/or have knowledge of claims management within a commercial environment.
  • Will have excellent attention to detail and ability to manage numerous tasks at any one time.
  • Will articulate and be comfortable communicating internally with colleagues required to feed into the claims process, as well as external claims management legal professionals, third party insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Will work closely with Commercial, Business Administration, Operational, and Service Delivery teams to compile compelling evidence packs in support of cost recovery claims.

Key Services
The key services in Claims Administration are anticipated as, but not limited to the following:

  • To manage and process all third-party claims and recoveries.
  • To liaise with the Business Administration Manager, Commercial Manager, Service Delivery Manager, and Operational staff to ensure all aspects of the claims are thoroughly satisfied.
  • Manage and report on the financial performance and progress of all third-party claims.
  • Understand and manage risks associated with recovery of claims, including awareness of third-party insurer and loss adjuster communication, and seeking appropriate advice and intervention from professional specialists where required to counter such communication.

The wider role may include but is not limited to the following

  • Data input on various spreadsheets and financial systems.
  • Submission of reports, working to various deadlines.
  • Manning several shared mailboxes during periods of cover.
  • Processing requisitions, purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, supplier remittances, stock issues and employee timesheets.
  • General reception duties such as answering calls, e-mails and greeting visitors.
  • To fully engage with the promotion and adoption of any current and future health, safety and wellbeing initiatives rolled out by Egis Road Operation M40 Ltd and/or Egis UK.
  • Promote and develop teamwork and positive work attitudes.
  • Behave in a manner to promote collaboration and fairness, and to foster a positive work environment
  • To carry our other such related duties as maybe required

Qualifications
Experience & attributes:

  • A love of systems and processes with an excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • To feel comfortable working with numerical and technical language and information.

Minimum Level Of Education Required
Appropriate Degree or demonstrate a similar level of commercial and administrative competency.

Minimum Level Of Experience Required
Demonstrable previous relevant experience.
