Reporting into the relevant Royalty Statements Manager, you'll play a vital part in managing end-to-end royalty reporting, interpreting complex contracts, resolving data queries, and contributing to process improvements as our systems and project work continue to evolve throughout your contract. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a high-profile function while supporting the delivery of some exciting, business-critical initiatives.
Please note, some of your roles tasks may change throughout the course of the contract to suit the progress of the project's needs.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Prepare, calculate and issue accurate royalty statements in line with contractual terms, usage data and sales or distribution reports.
- Review, interpret and apply licensing, publishing and distribution agreements to ensure calculations meet contractual obligations.
- Collect, validate and reconcile usage data from multiple sources (e.g., sales reports, streaming data, third-party statements) to support robust and accurate reporting.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues collaboratively with finance, legal, operations, external contributors and suppliers.
- Maintain and update royalty schedules, databases and records to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Support month-end planning and deadlines by preparing required reports, reconciliations and documentation.
- Respond to queries from talent, agents, partners and internal teams with clarity and professionalism.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting materials, reconciliations and explanations as required.
- Contribute to process and system improvements across data handling, reporting workflows and wider team efficiencies.
- Ensure all reporting activity complies with organisational policies, contractual requirements and industry standards.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Proven experience in royalty accounting, finance, licensing, publishing, or similar data-heavy reporting roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (including lookups, pivot tables and complex formulas) with demonstrable data analysis skills.
- Experience creating detailed royalty statements and/or managing end-to-end royalty payment processes.
- Ability to interpret contract or legal language relating to rights, payments, licensing or financial obligations.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
- Strong understanding of royalty structures such as licensing fees, revenue share models or residual payments.
- Excellent analytical thinking, numerical accuracy and high attention to detail when handling large and complex data sets.
- Familiarity with royalty or ERP systems (e.g., Rightsline, Alliant) and an ability to quickly learn new tools or reporting platforms.
- Confident communicator, able to explain calculations and processes clearly to internal stakeholders, suppliers and partners.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing deadlines and work effectively across multiple reporting cycles.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate discrepancies and propose practical, data-driven solutions.
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships and adapts well as project requirements evolve.
Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We'd encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
