Role Summary:

As a General Operative with forklift responsibilities, you will be trained to assist the Team Captain whilst the production line is running, you will be working in a team between 3 to 11 staff, communication with your Team Captain in this role is vital to help maximise the production lines efficiency and to help keep waste to a minimum. Your primary role could be repetitive at times and will be asked to stack boxes on pallets or packing on the production line, as well as forklift driving transporting raw materials, packaging and finished goods around site as well as wrapping pallets and using the stock control system. You will also be expected to maintain cleanliness by cleaning up during product changes and line downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Being part of the team, you will be fully accountable for the working areas quality and production within the shift, to ensure our products are produced and packed to the highest standards.
• All work carried out will be done safely and effectively to help keep incidents to a minimum.
• Unused products must be recorded and covered to reduce any contamination.
• Cleanliness of the working area, Promote the clean as you go policy.
• Report any issues / faults with any equipment to your Team Captain
• Ensuring that you always wear the correct PPE provided.
• Use the correct manual handling techniques when working on production lines.
• Collecting different type of packaging i.e., boxes or film or labels and bring them to the production line you are working on
• Provide raw materials for the production lines.
• Planning ahead – so getting products nearby ready for next production run to be efficient.
• Wrapping of finished goods on production lines.

Qualifications and abilities:

• FMCG environment experience preferred but not essential.
• Valid Counterbalance forklift certification essential
• Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of forklift and production safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects.
• Communication, time management and problem solving.
• High quality standards

Also please be aware the factory is in a remote location with no public transport links so reliable/own transport is essential. Factory location - DN41 8NB

Working days/hours: Mon-Thurs, 2.30pm-1.30am
