Affinity Water have a fantastic opportunity to join us on a 12 month Fixed term contract as a Senior Asset Manager

The role

The Senior Asset Manager – Asset Intelligence sits within the wider Strategic Asset Management and Insight (SAMI) team in the Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery (ASCD) function and provides senior strategic leadership for asset intelligence, insight, and innovation across the directorate.

The role ensures asset related data and insight are applied intelligently and strategically to drive evidence-based decision-making, shape ASCD priorities, and strengthen organisational asset management capability.

Acting as a strategic guide, you will lead the asset intelligence agenda across ASCD, ensuring initiatives align with broader directorate objectives and organisational commitments.

You will champion innovative approaches to asset insight and analytics, oversee the delivery of dashboards, modelling, and advanced analytical solutions, and drive collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

The role leads, mentors, and develops the Asset Intelligence and Asset Insight teams, creating a culture of innovation, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement, working towards positioning Affinity Water as a sector leader in data-driven assetmanagement

What you need

  • Degree in a numerate, analytical, or relevant technical discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience/knowledge of strategic asset intelligence, analytics, and insight in asset-intensive organisations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience delivering innovative analytical solutions and dashboards to support decision-making
  • Experience with Qlik or other data visualisation/reporting tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI)
  • Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience leading and developing teams of analysts and asset intelligence professionals
  • Experience assessing and improving data insight/intelligence capabilities across an organisation
