About the Role:
Stamford College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Skills for Work and Living (SEND) to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and support tailored to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You'll help students develop essential life and work skills, building their confidence and independence to prepare them for future success.
As Course Coordinator for Post-16 learners, you'll also play a key role in managing the smooth running of your courses, contributing to curriculum development, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and supportive teaching tailored to SEND learners
- Assess student progress, set SMART targets, and provide constructive feedback
- Coordinate course delivery and collaborate with colleagues to enhance learning programmes
- Support student recruitment, enrolment, and progression activities
- Promote positive learner behaviour and contribute to student welfare and safeguarding
- Use IT and digital learning tools effectively to enhance teaching and learning
- Participate in staff development and college-wide initiatives
- Experience working with learners with SEND and delivering inclusive education
- Teaching qualification at Level 5 (DTTLS, Diploma in Education & Training, PGCE or equivalent) preferred
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive learning
- Ability to inspire and motivate learners, adapting teaching to meet diverse needs
- Experience or willingness to coordinate courses and contribute to curriculum development
