Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining excellent food safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop their skills within a professional restaurant environment.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising staff and managing workflow
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
  • Coordinate with catering services for special events and large-scale meal preparations
  • Maintain stock levels, organise inventory, and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Support meal preparation for restaurant service, including plating and garnishing dishes
  • Serve food to customers when required, providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment
  • Strong skills in cooking, food preparation, and meal presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
  • Experience with catering services and large-scale meal production is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a kitchen setting is advantageous
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and continuous learning in food service excellence

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year
