Role Overview

LSBI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Tutor/Assessor in Business Studies to deliver engaging lessons to adult learners through face-to-face and online teaching. The role involves teaching, assessing coursework, providing feedback, and supporting learners through their academic and professional journey.

This is a freelance position with flexible working hours, ideal for professionals with teaching experience who wish to contribute to high-quality education in a growing and ambitious institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver interactive lessons in Business Studies (Levels 3–6), both in-person and online.
  • Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning materials aligned with qualification standards.
  • Assess assignments and provide constructive, timely feedback to learners.
  • Support learners in developing employability, academic, and personal skills.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, progress tracking, and assessment documentation.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance and moderation processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities as required.
  • Ensure teaching and assessment meet LSBI's academic and quality assurance standards.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., PGCE, AET, TAQA, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching or assessing adult learners in FE, HE, or private training environments.
  • Strong understanding of business-related subjects such as marketing, management, entrepreneurship, finance, and strategy.
  • Excellent communication and digital delivery skills (Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support diverse learners.

Desirable

  • Experience working with awarding bodies and understanding assessment frameworks.
  • Industry experience within business or management roles.
  • Familiarity with blended learning models and online learning platforms.

Employment Type

  • Freelance / Contract
  • Flexible working hours (daytime, evenings, or weekends as agreed)
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualification level.
