At Cottonrake we are currently looking for a Baker.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef with 3–4 years of experience to join our production kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in pastry production, with a strong eye for detail, consistency, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare pastry items such as tarts, cookies, cakes, and laminated doughs to be distributed to our three venues.
  • Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies and report shortages as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the baking station and equipment in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in developing new recipes and seasonal items in collaboration with the Head Baker and Executive Team.
  • Maintain consistency in portioning, shaping, and presentation of products.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including allergen handling and HACCP procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in a professional bakery or patisserie setting.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of pastry techniques.
  • Familiarity with artisan bread and viennoiserie production is helpful.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Working Conditions

  • Standing for extended periods, lifting bags of flour/supplies (up to 25kg).
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities to grow and learn.

Working Pattern

​Days: Typically 4 days per week (10 hour shifts) on a rotating schedule.

Breaks: Scheduled in line with working hours and in accordance with labor laws.

Flexibility: Occasional adjusted hours during peak seasons, product launches, or special events.
