Join us as a New Product Development Manager within the Commercial Issuing team, where you'll be responsible for defining and developing market-leading products that meet the needs of our clients from small businesses to large multinational corporates. You'll continually be on the lookout for new, innovative opportunities to enhance and evolve our products to ensure they remain relevant, deliver exceptional client experiences, and enable the business to be at the forefront of the competitive, dynamic payments ecosystem.

To be successful as a New Product Development Manager, you should have experience with:

  • In-depth knowledge of the UK payments market
  • Solid commercial and technical understanding of payment scheme processes
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from multiple data sources to identify trends and potential issues
  • Proven planning, organizational, and delivery capabilities
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal — with the ability to adapt your message for a range of audiences, from senior executives to front-line colleagues

Some Other Highly Valued Skills Include

  • Experience with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile
  • Broad understanding of relevant products, including charge cards, corporate credit cards, B2B payments, and digital wallets
  • A product development mindset, ideally with exposure to Design Thinking principles

This is a hybrid role based at the Northampton or Canary Wharf office.

Purpose of the role
To manage a specific product or portfolio and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage product development risk across the organisation.

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for a specific product or portfolio, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of a specific product or portfolio, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.  .
  • Relationship management of specific product or portfolio stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the specific product or portfolio.
  • Management of specific product or portfolio risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank's specific product or portfolio and compliance functions.  .
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the specific product or portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
