Martin House is one of the leading children's and young people's hospices in the UK. Children's specialist palliative care is life-long supportive care. It's all-encompassing care, provided to children and their families over time. Alongside medical care, children experience therapeutic treatments, home visits and different types of support involving a huge range of activities. This support extends to the whole family with parents and siblings involved throughout. For instance, care teams can support parents to meet their children's needs, and siblings can get involved in therapeutic activities.
Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced specialist mental health practitioner or senior accredited counsellor to join our Directorate of Care working within the Family Support and Wellbeing Team. This role embodies our commitment to compassionate, family centred care and professional excellence. This post holder will support a diverse team of professionals from several disciplines to provide a specialist support service to children/young people and their families who are facing life limiting conditions or bereavement and experiencing complex and acute levels of distress.
The successful candidate will have a passion for leadership, staff development and working as part of a multi-professional team. Their leadership will directly influence the emotional wellbeing of families navigating some of the most challenging moments of their lives. This post holder will have the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and experience in psychological and emotional support provided in children's hospice care; learning from a team committed to providing holistic specialist palliative care.
Experience of working with families who have children with complex or palliative needs would be beneficial but is not essential. Please note all applicants must be registered with HCPC/NMC/SWE or be a senior accredited member of the BACP.

• Have significant experience of providing professional leadership, supervision and support.
• Be dedicated, compassionate, warm, and always work in collaboration with others.
- Be open, flexible, responsive, and be driven to deliver high standards in everything you do.

- Want to work in a well-established, award-winning hospice, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to support the children, young people, and their families from the time of their referral through end-of-life care and into bereavement.
- Be good at building rapport and making people feel at ease.
- Have good IT skills and the ability to record care accurately and contemporaneously.
- Due to the nature of the role access to a vehicle for business purposes is required.
