Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager where you will deliver value by forming a direct, collaborative relationship with higher education providers (HEPs, including universities / colleges).

You will be responsible for the two-way service interactions between the Student Loan Company (SLC) and HEPs, ensuring that timely and accurate student data is provided to enable the payment of tuition fees, loans and grants which supports the student's education journey.

In addition, you will deliver training and guidance to HEPs through an annual engagement programme that will enable and equip HEPs to meet the requirement of SLC Service Standards, ensuring that:

• The execution of full end-to-end processes for student finance applications, assessment and payment to students and learners is enabled by dependable, timely and accurate information from service partners.
• The end-to-end processes for payment to Delivery Partners achieve SLC "Pay" commitments.
• The levels of satisfaction from service partners are high enough for SLC to receive support, endorsement and insight to enable continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication skills; confident and articulate presenter.
• Ability to influence decisions and agree actions with internal and external customers and service partners.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships and influence internal and external partners and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse and present information and data clearly and concisely.
• Uses initiative to resolve issues and is confident in ability to make decisions.
• Track record of good time-management, with ability to deliver to deadlines.
• Experience at providing external-facing relationship management, and in managing business-to-business service interactions.
• Focus on continuous improvement and developing working practices, for self and others.
• Flexibility on working hours and ability to travel extensively and regularly within UK, often overnight.
