Leicester Drama Society Ltd. (LDS)
was founded in 1922 and has run The Little Theatre in Dover Street since It is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity.

LDS
has been producing quality theatre in the heart of Leicester for over a century, owning and running The Little Theatre, with a 349-seat main auditorium and a flexible studio space, which draws audiences of over 41,000 per year. The LDS delivers a diverse programme ranging from Shakespeare to musicals, drama to comedy, contemporary theatre to the classics. In addition to the 12 main house LDS productions, pantomime, studio productions, Youth Group productions, one-act play festival and drama workshops each year, the Little Theatre plays host to a range of visiting companies and one-night special performances. A predominantly voluntary-run organisation, LDS membership is open to anyone interested in theatre and currently has over 400 members.

LDS is governed by a Board of Trustees drawn from the membership who meet monthly and fulfil many of the leadership and management roles within the society and theatre. Almost all roles within the theatre in front of house, backstage and technical are fulfilled by volunteer members. A small team of 6 paid staff are employed to ensure safety, stability, the smooth running of the essential parts of the theatre and the co-ordination, support, training and coaching of volunteers.

About The Role

We are seeking two dynamic and passionate Deputy Managers to join our team. These part-time roles are ideal for individuals with a love for theatre, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to venue management.

You'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the theatre, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and a safe, enjoyable experience for patrons and performers alike.

Key Responsibilities

· Duty-manage the theatre during performances or events and assist volunteers in customer facing operations including Bar, Box Office and Front of House.

· Manage either Bar or Box Office. Lead, support, train and co-ordinate volunteer teams.

· Manage the office and fulfil admin tasks outside of showtimes.

· Take lead on customer service handling queries, complaints, and feedback.

· Help ensure health & safety compliance ensuring controls and safe practices followed.

· Support and deputise for the Theatre Manager in ensuring the smooth and safe running of The Little Theatre.
