Infrastructure Project Manager

Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Infrastructure Project Manager from the Managed Service Provider (MSP) IT sector to join a growing team.

This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing the delivery of multiple projects that provide IT infrastructure, cloud, and architectural services, ensuring they are managed in line with client expectations.

As an Infrastructure Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that project scopes are tightly controlled, delivered within budget, and meet high quality standards. The role will also support project engineers by coordinating resources, developing project plans, and managing reporting and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and programs from planning to production, ensuring adherence to governance and delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop project plans, define requirements, and plan project lifecycle deployment.
  • Develop risk mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Manage and schedule engineering resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure all project documentation, resourcing, and approvals are completed at each phase of the project lifecycle.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations, ensuring clear communication between clients and teams.
  • Coordinate third-party suppliers and partners in project delivery.
  • Maintain risk registers and issue logs for all projects, ensuring they are up to date.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with approved project plans.
  • Oversee handover of completed projects to the Service Desk, including documentation, configurations, licences, and key contacts.
  • Verify that project invoicing is accurate and includes any ongoing costs.
  • Ensure all projects meet company quality standards.
  • Support the continuous improvement of internal project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Contribute to company profitability through efficient project delivery.
  • Maintain decision logs and meeting minutes for client interactions.
  • Support development of technical work instructions and reusable project templates.
  • Participate in technical reviews of project proposals to validate solution accuracy, effort, and costing.
  • Capture and document lessons learned, providing feedback to improve future projects.

Required Attributes

  • Strong technical understanding of common IT infrastructure and cloud solutions used in MSP environments.
  • Proven project leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and task management abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt materials for various audiences.
  • Ability to balance technical and business requirements to produce accurate project plans and estimates.

Desirable

  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Formal project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
