PURPOSE

The Head of People and Culture is a key role, responsible for shaping and delivering our people strategy and ensuring an exceptional employee experience. The position combines strategic HR guidance with hands-on operational involvement — ensuring our systems, culture, and processes support a high-performing, collaborative, and values-driven team. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you'll lead all aspects of talent acquisition, engagement, development, wellbeing, and compliance. You'll also oversee the digitisation and integration of HR systems, ensuring our processes are efficient, compliant, and future-ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. HR Operations & Compliance

·      Manage and deliver all HR systems, policies, and processes, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.

·      Partner with the Head of Finance to manage and execute payroll, benefits, and related reporting.

·      Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR metrics.

·      Stay informed on employment law and HR best practice, ensuring the business remains compliant and progressive.

·      Lead the digitisation of HR documentation, benefits, and performance systems to streamline processes.

. Strategic Direction

·      Develop and deliver a comprehensive People & Culture strategy aligned with business objectives.

·      Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and senior team on all HR and culture matters.

·      Advise on organisational design, workforce planning, and change management.

·      Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that ensure a welcoming, equitable environment for all.

·      Champion wellbeing and engagement strategies that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

3. Talent Acquisition & Development

·      Oversee end-to-end recruitment, from job design to onboarding.

·      Strengthen employer brand and candidate experience.

·      Lead onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive and consistent employee journey.

·      Partner with department heads to design and deliver training and career development initiatives.

·      Contribute to the design and rollout of the company's sales training and leadership development framework.

4. Engagement, Culture & Communication

·      Foster a strong, inclusive, and values-driven company culture.

·      Partner with internal teams and committees to deliver engaging company events and wellbeing activities.

·      Oversee internal communications, including updates to the team intranet, benefits guide, and employee handbook.

·      Promote open communication and proactive feedback across all levels of the business.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

To be agreed with the Managing Director, likely to include:

·      Retention and turnover rates

·      Time-to-hire and recruitment quality metrics

·      Compliance and audit performance

·      Completion of HR digitisation project milestones

KEY OBJECTIVES

·      Maintain legally compliant and up-to-date HR policies and procedures

·      Deliver accurate and timely HR administration and reporting

·      Improve employee engagement and retention

·      Ensure efficient recruitment and onboarding processes

Embed wellbeing and inclusion across all aspects of company culture

SKILLS EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

Essential

·      Minimum 4 years' experience in a Human Resources leadership role

·      Proven track record delivering HR strategy and initiatives in a fast-paced SME

·      Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices

·      Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

·      Hands-on experience with HR systems and process improvement

·      Skilled at balancing strategic vision with practical implementation required in a small business

·      Calm, proactive, and solutions-focused approach under pressure with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks

·      Proficiency in Microsoft 365 / Teams / Google Workspace

Desirable

·      HR qualification (CIPD Level 3 or 5).

·      Experience in travel, hospitality, or luxury services

·      Experience managing digital HR systems and wellbeing platforms (e.g. YuLife, Husky)

WORK PATTERN

·      
Part-time:

3 days per week (approx. 22.5 hours)

·      
Hybrid:

Combination of remote and London office-based working

·      Flexibility required during peak periods or key events/fam Trip

HEALTH & SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

·      Support with ALL aspects of the health, safety and compliance of the office working with the Executive Assistant, office landlord and external consultants as required.

·      A
Basic DBS check

is required for this role.

·      Must maintain awareness of GDPR and data protection responsibilities for team members

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

·      Contribute to the office environment and culture where possible.

·      Undertake project work as required or requested.

·      Support other areas within the business where possible and ensure communication and cohesive working opportunities.

·      Carry out any reasonable requests for the benefit of the business

Working Pattern

·      Part-time: 3 days per week (approx. 22.5 hours)

·      Hybrid /onsite at the London office.

·      Some flexibility may be required during peak seasons or events.
