Are you interested in working for a company whose main goal is to make a difference to the health of current and future generations, through the knowledge and experience of our passionate team?

Role Summary:

We are seeking a scientifically driven individual with a strong academic background and a keen interest in marketing to help shape and communicate the value of our cognitive assessment tools. This role bridges the gap between research and market engagement, ensuring our clinical and academic achievements are represented with both scientific credibility and clear, impactful communication. The ideal candidate will bring scientific insight and analytical thinking to support the development of a marketing strategy grounded in evidence and integrity, whilst ensuring commercial impact.

What you'll be doing:

As Senior Scientific Communications and Engagement Manager, you will drive the integration of scientific insight into our marketing strategy, shaping how our cognitive assessment tools are represented to academic, clinical, and commercial audiences. You will lead initiatives that strengthen our academic presence, foster lasting relationships with alumni and key stakeholders, and produce evidence-based content that demonstrates real-world impact. Working closely with Marketing, Product, and Science teams, you will ensure scientific integrity underpins all communications while delivering measurable outcomes that elevate our brand, thought leadership, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Integrating Science into Marketing Strategy

Drive the integration of scientific insight into all aspects of our marketing approach. Partner with the Marketing and Science teams to ensure materials, social content, and campaigns are scientifically robust, credible, and aligned with company standards. Build and refine customer personas to understand what drives their decisions (e.g., funding cycles, conference deadlines, publications) and identify opportunities to position our assessments as solutions that help them achieve their goals.

2. Elevating Academic Marketing and Alumni Relations

Strengthen our academic presence through targeted marketing initiatives that resonate with researchers and academic institutions. Design and maintain an alumni infrastructure that fosters lasting engagement, lead the organisation of academic and scientific events (largely UK-based), and create regular newsletters to sustain brand visibility. Ensure bibliographic references and scientific evidence underpinning our cognitive assessments are kept current and featured prominently across all marketing channels.

3. Collaboration with Clinical Science and R&D

Partner closely with the Chief Scientist, Product, and Science leads to ensure consistency, accuracy, and credibility in how we present our science. Support the preparation and promotion of publications, conference posters, and other scientific outputs ensuring they communicate scientific integrity while driving broader awareness and uptake of our solutions.

4. Developing Scientific Content and Case Studies

Lead the creation and promotion of scientific content that demonstrates the impact of our tools in real-world contexts. Develop case studies, thought leadership pieces, and evidence-based marketing materials that resonate with both academic and commercial audiences. Support the science team in preparing publications for peer-reviewed journals and media outlets, positioning the company as a trusted leader with investors, collaborators, and stakeholders.

5. Measuring Impact and Optimising Engagement

Use data-driven insights to evaluate the performance of scientific marketing initiatives, refine strategies, and optimise engagement. Track outcomes such as brand awareness, academic reach, stakeholder engagement, and contribution to commercial growth, ensuring all activities deliver measurable impact.

What we need from you:

Our ideal candidate combines scientific expertise with proven marketing capability and will be able to translate complex research into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with academic, clinical and commercial audiences.

Essential Requirements:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong scientific background (degree in life sciences, neuroscience or related field) with a deep understanding of our industry
  • Demonstrate experience in marketing or communications, ideally within scientific or technical environments, with a track record of delivering measurable impact.
  • Be skilled at engaging academic and clinical stakeholders, with experience building relationships, networks, and communities.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex scientific concepts without losing accuracy or credibility.
  • Be comfortable collaborating across multiple diverse teams (marketing, product, R&D, clinical) to align strategy and messaging.
  • Be data-driven, with the ability to measure the performance of campaigns and adjust strategies to maximise engagement and business outcomes.
  • Have experience creating and promoting thought leadership, case studies, and evidence-based content that supports commercial growth and brand credibility.
  • Bring professional curiosity, creativity, and strategic thinking to solve complex challenges and identify new opportunities to showcase our science.

Desirable:

  • Experience with academic event coordination, alumni relations, or scientific community engagement.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media, and analytics platforms relevant to scientific audiences.
  • Knowledge of grant cycles, publication processes, and scientific conference environments.

What we can do for you:

  • Be part of a driven team to achieve commercial success and make an extraordinary impact on global health
  • Flexibility – 2 days a week at our office in Bottisham, just outside Cambridge; and 3 days from home plus the opportunity to work your hours flexibly.
  • 26 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays (including 3 days for Christmas break) with a holiday buy/sell scheme
  • Generous pension with up to 6.5% company contribution
  • Life assurance 2x base salary
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
