Job Description:

We are seeking an Audio Engineer who will be responsible for collecting high-quality multimedia data, setting up and calibrating recording equipment, and processing data using scripts and command line tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in sound and audio, experience in multimedia equipment setup and recording, and proficiency in data processing and management.

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of multimedia equipment setup and recording, gained from experience in a sound engineering or AV technician role. Including DAWs, audio interfaces, speakers and microphones.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of our data collections are correct.
  • Interest in sound and audio, demonstrated by activities such as playing a musical instrument, making audio recordings, or music production.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management.
  • A good standard of day-to-day computing proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with large spreadsheets or databases. For example, working with data in Excel or in a database such as MySQL.
  • Programming or scripting experience, e.g. Python.
  • Familiarity using Linux and the command line would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with visual positioning/motion capture systems
