Role Description

Virtue Vets is seeking a full-time Marketing Copywriter to join our team on-site in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for crafting impactful marketing copy, developing web content, and aligning copy with SEO and performance marketing strategies. This will involve creating engaging and persuasive content that aligns with our brand voice, enhances customer engagement, and drives growth.

You would create compelling marketing copy for our customers and social media followers. You would write catchy, engaging, educational and entertaining marketing content targeted at pet owners and the veterinary community. Your content should convey our brand and also compel pet owners to engage with us. You would write engaging copy for marketing materials across campaigns as well as digital and traditional marketing channels. You would write for web pages and potentially also for social media, and video script. You would also write engaging content for traditional ads, leaflets, brochures, mailshots, Mailchimp etc. You would also be responsible for educational content targeted at pet owners.

Fluent English language skills are a must. You must have strong attention to detail, grammar, tone of voice etc. You must be aware of the zeitgeist and social trends. You'll have the strategic thinking to shape campaigns and concepts from scratch and the ability to make every word count.

Being a pet parent or pet lover is a big plus.

Must haves:

  • Proven experience in a copywriting role focused on performance marketing or paid social (ideally for a medical, health or wellness brand).
  • Deep understanding of direct-response copywriting principles — from attention-grabbing hooks to conversion-driven CTAs.
  • Track record of writing for video ads, social scripts, and landing pages that perform in a data-driven growth environment.
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable interpreting campaign metrics (CTR, CVR, CPA, LTV) to guide creative decisions.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with sensitivity to tone and audience
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted or generative tools for concepting and creative iteration.
  • Understanding of creative frameworks for Meta/TikTok ads (e.g., hook-problem-solution, testimonial, UGC formats).
  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the veterinary or healthcare industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Content Creation & Optimisation

  • Write engaging, SEO-optimised website content, including homepage copy, service pages, category pages, landing pages, and blog posts.
  • Conduct keyword research to align content with search intent and business objectives.
  • Structure content for SEO, incorporating metadata, headers, and internal linking.
  • Optimise content for readability, search rankings, and conversions.

SEO Strategy & Implementation

  • Perform keyword research to uncover ranking opportunities.
  • Provide SEO recommendations to enhance website content structure and performance.
  • Conduct competitor content analysis to identify gaps and trends.
  • Work closely with developers to integrate SEO best practices into website content.

Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor content performance using SEO tools such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
  • Analyse user engagement and search visibility to refine content strategy.
  • Stay updated with the latest SEO trends and implement new strategies accordingly.
