Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors. This role involves working closely with residents, their families, and other care staff to ensure that individual care plans are followed and that each resident receives the highest standard of care.

Duties

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices in senior care.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health or behaviour.
  • Foster a positive environment by engaging residents in social activities and promoting their emotional well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to address concerns and provide updates on care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a senior care role or similar position is essential.
  • Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a care setting.
  • Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual needs is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
