As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Fire Research Consultant to join our Building & Real Estate Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We're looking for a proactive, flexible and reliable Fire Engineer to join our London office, with experience in a similar role and who possesses a recognised fire safety engineering qualification. Working across a variety of projects both autonomously and as part of a wider team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to)
- Develop fire safety strategies and construction guidance for buildings and infrastructure projects
- Conduct external wall system fire safety assessments
- Perform technical engineering analysis including CFD modelling and structural fire engineering
- Undertake construction stage site visits and advisory support
- Provide expert fire safety consultation and advice
- Prepare fee proposals and client correspondence
- Maintain regular client liaison and relationship management
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil, or a similar field)
- Involvement and recognition with a professional body
- Proven background in fire safety and a good understanding of fire-engineered solutions
- At least two years' experience in fire safety engineering
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

Our Fire Engineering team focus on providing an award-winning, flexible and forward-thinking approach, as well as a high level of technical capability. We deliver cost-effective, practical solutions to our clients for the full range of fire safety problems. Both on site and in the office, nationally and internationally, we cater to the needs of any project with regards to assisting with emerging risks and designing solutions to combat them. In addition to Fire Engineering, our Building & Real Estate division provides many other important services including Health & Safety Consultancy, Structural Engineering, and Building Control services.
