Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience working with all makes and models

. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Duties

  • Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Identify any faults or issues that may affect the vehicle's performance or safety.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately and efficiently following each inspection.
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining test results and recommendations to vehicle owners.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to vehicle testing.

Experience

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
  • Previous experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role is highly desirable but not essential for the right candidate willing to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
