Protyre Autocare are looking for an enthusiastic Service Technician /MOT Tester to join our growing team. This person will be a Level 3 Qualified Service Technician.

Salary : £36-38+ Bonus £3K

About you:

  • You will have an Automotive Qualification, NVQ level 3
  • Full UK driving licence for the vehicle classes you want to test
  • Be a skilled mechanic with at least 4 years' full-time employment servicing and repairing the types of vehicles you're going to test
  • Have no unspent convictions for criminal offences
  • Be 'of good repute' - the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will decide this to make sure you're suitable to be an MOT tester
  • Experienced with mechanical and fast fit repairs which may include tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension and general servicing repairs to a wide range of vehicles
  • The ability to work as part of a busy team in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment
  • Great customer service skills

About the role:

You will work as a Service Technician carrying out the below duties while working towards your MOT testing course.

If you fit the above criteria, you will gain your MOT licence on 60-90 days on average.

  • Ensure the work completed on each vehicle is carried out safely and to a high standard
  • Completing fast fit tyre fitting whilst being able to use an alignment machine and understand the reading and relevant adjustments
  • Fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other mechanical products
  • Carrying out MOT repairs
  • Adherence to company procedures of the vehicle inspection process
  • Use relevant diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality
  • Advise on other issues vehicles display, including common issues vehicles of certain makes and ages develop, and offers timelines for future vehicle repair needs
  • Working in a safe manner and always comply with health & safety regulations
