Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. Duties

  • Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
  • Inspect key components such as brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform minor repairs or adjustments when necessary.
  • Record test results accurately and provide clear reports to customers.
  • Maintain the MOT bay in a clean, organised, and safe condition at all times.
  • Assist with vehicle diagnostics and minor repairs as required.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all testing procedures.

Experience

  • Proven experience in vehicle inspection or MOT testing is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems is essential for accurate assessments.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or parts.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections.
  • Prior experience working within an automotive workshop or garage environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
