Forge Talent have partnered a PE Backed Services Business in Manchester City Centre to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller on a Permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all business units and entities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Drive regular forecast updates (monthly / quarterly) and present variance analysis.
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective action.
- Maintain a rolling weekly cashflow forecast at group and entity level.
- Monitor cash balances, working capital movements, and financing needs.
- Produce weekly trading reports including variance analysis for each P&L / entity.
- Prepare monthly management packs, board packs and presentations with clear commentary.
- Build and maintain dashboards / KPIs to surface performance trends and lead indicators.
- Oversee the consolidation and intercompany consolidation for 3 entities / P&Ls.
- Ensure consistency of accounting policies and metrics across sites.
- Support site-level finance teams, review local financial results, and drive alignment.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to understand cost drivers, revenue levers and margins.
- Provide scenario analysis, modelling and "what-if" assessments to support decision making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, margin enhancement.
- Dive deep into revenue, cost and margin variances, identifying root causes.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support bids, capital projects, pricing decisions.
- Ensure financial integrity and accuracy in all reporting.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years post-qualification) in a commercial / corporate finance role.
- Significant experience with budgeting, forecasting, weekly cashflow, multi-site / multi-entity reporting.
