Role Overview

As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility is the well-being and safety of the children. You will act as a positive role model and main point of contact for the children, supporting them to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children with their daily well-being, both emotional and physical.
  • Encouraging and nurturing healthy long-term relationships within a family-style environment.
  • Providing consistent care to help children develop resilience, self-esteem, and improved general well-being.
  • Supporting children to achieve individual goals and their full potential.
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
  • Actively participating in professional development to enhance service delivery.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children who have behaviours that challenge or who have experienced trauma
  • Experience in a residential children's home
  • Basic knowledge of relevant laws and procedures relating to children and young people
  • Honest, reliable, empathetic, and able to listen and engage effectively

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in a residential EBD setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
