About the Team
Workday's Corporate Communications team in EMEA is a collaborative, results-driven group that builds brand awareness and engagement around the Workday business across the region. We cover both external and internal communications in the markets in which Workday operates, enjoying working with different cultures and driving global business impact through compelling content that inspires and educates our audiences while instilling trust in Workday.
About the Role
We are seeking an Executive Communications Lead to drive our executive engagement strategy across EMEA. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of executive platforms and keynote narratives, using all relevant channels including executive social media to drive impact.
You will own the communications strategy for a cross-functional group of Pan-EMEA executives. You will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives for Tier 1 engagements, managing executive social media channels, and ensuring continuity of messaging across international leaders.
This role requires close collaboration with global and regional teams, including working with the head of comms, the keynote team, and product marketing to localise content and maximise impact. It reports directly to the EMEA Head of Communications.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Platforms & Keynotes
- Keynote Strategy & Narrative: Own executive platforms across Tier 1 engagements, including Workday Rising, Elevate and SKO. Draft regional keynotes, narrative slides, and modular content, ensuring alignment with US and global creative, and seamless event execution.
- Collaboration & Localisation: Work with regional teams, including Product Marketing and Field Marketing, to localise content for individual markets.
- Executive Opportunities: Drive EMEA executive engagement across keynote creation and speaking opportunities, including the Executive Symposium, CEO Advisory Meeting, Partner Summit, and other Tier 1 events.
- Global Support: Support visits to the region of EComm executives working as the connector between their teams and the regional business units.
Executive Social Media & Communications
- Social Strategy: Own and drive the social strategy for the five Pan-EMEA executives, working with the Executive Comms leader in the US to maximise impact.
- Content Creation: Develop semi-tailored posts based on the Pan-EMEA calendar of activity and individual Tier 1 engagements. Create supporting materials, including 'executive social gems.'
- Measurement: Work with the social team to track impact and engagement.
Messaging & Positioning
- Strategic Messaging: Support and drive EMEA messaging. Work with the Head of EMEA Comms to create a defined Point of View (POV) for the five key leaders and share this with regional teams.
- Campaign Alignment: Work with the Pan-EMEA campaigns team to ensure toolkits include relevant opportunities for executive profiling.
- Continuity: Ensure continuity of message across key international leaders for Town Halls, EComm visits to the region, and external engagements.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 10 years working in corporate communications and marketing, including significant executive communications experience, in a fast-paced, high-tech company.
- Strategic Narrative Building: Demonstrable ability to understand complex business and technology concepts and translate them into compelling stories. You must have the capacity to explain complex strategies in a clear, concise, and engaging way for various audiences—from technical experts to the general public.
- Keynote Leadership: Strong experience leading C-level keynote content development, including storyline development, script writing, and guiding visuals (in partnership with visual designers).
- Executive Partnership: An established track record of collaborating with and proactively supporting senior leaders on communications strategies. A client service mentality and consultative approach are requirements.
- Tech & AI Savviness: A proactive adopter of new technologies and AI in your own workflow. You should be an advocate for using approved AI tools to enhance efficiency and innovation within the communications function.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding writing and editing skills with the ability to write for a broad spectrum of multimedia communications channels.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence.
Other Qualifications:
- Agility: High degree of flexibility, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Innovative Mindset: Always looking for ways to improve how we communicate with and engage audiences.
- Data-Driven: Data-minded and value-oriented thinking is ideal, including experience building out reports and metrics-based programs for executive communications.
- Industry Knowledge: Specific knowledge in building, selling, and deploying enterprise software—understanding the strategy and concepts behind the business model.
Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
