About The Role

  • Administer and optimise SQL Server environments across multiple clients
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices
  • Lead technical discussions and offer strategic guidance to client teams
  • Perform upgrades, installations, and after-hours maintenance deployments
  • Tune performance, refine automation, and ensure high availability
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to our shared technical knowledge base
  • Fostering a collaborative approach to inclusive teamworking
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (shared across the team)

About You
What You Bring

  • Deep expertise in SQL Server infrastructure and database administration
  • Strong grasp of backup/recovery models, replication, and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting (bonus points)
  • Experience with HA solutions: Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Clustering, Mirroring
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and migration strategies
  • Bonus: Exposure to PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
  • Excellent communication skills-able to translate tech into business value
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for solving problems

Qualifications

  • Microsoft or Oracle certifications are a plus-but not essential
  • What matters most is your hands-on experience and ability to deliver
