- Hybrid role - with travel across our Eastern Education Group sites
- 1 FTE - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Permanent
- Salary: £47,673 - £51,615 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
Eastern Education Group is seeking a visionary yet practical leader to shape the future of our transport services. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a £2m+ operation, running today's student bus network while leading the transition toward a flexible hybrid model and, ultimately, a sustainable, future-ready transport company. You will oversee day-to-day delivery with safety, compliance, reliability, and customer experience at its core, while ensuring strong commercial performance and value for money.
As the transport landscape modernises, the role will also lead the introduction of digital tools, data insights and AI-assisted planning to improve route design, forecasting, compliance, and customer experience. This includes supporting the rollout of digital ticketing, automated reporting, and integrated systems that help the Group deliver safer, more efficient and more reliable transport services.
You will play a critical role in shaping the longer-term transport model for the Group, developing robust business cases, exploring electric and low-emission fleet options, and working with councils, employers, regional mayors and funding bodies to unlock new investment and expand access for students and communities. This is a strategic, future-focused role that blends operational leadership with innovation and the opportunity to deliver real regional impact.
We are looking for an experienced senior leader from transport, logistics, or large-scale service operations who brings strong commercial acumen, a deep understanding of passenger transport regulation, and the credibility to lead a company-level service. If you want to make a meaningful difference to education, sustainability, and community access, this is your chance to drive real change.
We offer a wide range of staff benefits including:
- Membership into Local Government Pension Scheme
- Family friendly policies and flexible working
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Employee wellbeing initiatives
- Free parking
- Canteen
- Company events
- Access to various memberships and discount schemes
- Learning and development opportunities, including staff development days
- Funded subject course development for your role
- Range of staff communities, including EDI and neurodiverse communities
- Career progression opportunities
