The Position
Strategic Analytics is a growing team at Arch that has established itself as a driving force in how the business is run. This is achieved through the implementation of real-time analytic and automation solutions that improve profitability and growth. To broaden its impact, the team has expanded its focus to deliver business-driven intelligent automation capabilities that combine internal/external data, Intelligent Document Processing to produce tangible value for the broader organization. This includes working with artificial intelligence/machine learning, computer vision, NLP, OCR/IDP, and algorithmic-based actions.

As AVP of Intelligent Automation, you will lead the development of end-to-end AI projects and provide strategic oversight and guidance to the existing RPA team to improve digital operations. You will partner closely with the Head of Automation to design, develop, and implement AI solutions by applying the right mix of technologies across the underwriting and claims functions. You will manage and mentor offshore resources. This function will build and maintain a competitive advantage through increased speed and agility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Automation and various Business Units to analyse workflows to identify opportunities for improvement while aligning with business goals and adhering to standards
  • Act as subject matter expert for intelligent automation solutions and their underlying technologies
  • Design and execute technical and business focused proof-of-concepts to evaluate the business value of AI coordinating between data engineers/scientists, business partners and vendors
  • Hands-on management of offshore intelligent automation resources
  • Work with various teams to help create Arch's AI Centre of Excellence
  • Meet with senior leaders to develop new projects/provide updates on existing work

Required Skills/Experience

  • Proven history of people/project/thought leadership & collaboration
  • Significant experience working within an analytics / automation role, with some / all of that time within the insurance industry
  • Demonstrable experience in an Analytics/Automation management position
  • Comfortable handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces
  • Excellent critical thinking skills in order to tackle complex data challenges
  • Ability to communicate effectively to different target audiences
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and highly collaborative global team
  • Flexibility – able to meet changing requirements and priorities
  • Real world experience applying LLMs to a business problem

Desired Skills/Experience

  • P&C insurance business process analysis, process improvement and automation experience
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams for delivering technology solutions
  • Experience defining technology requirements designed to enhance business processes and business optimization
  • Python development experience

Education

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or equivalent quantitative disciplines
