Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with the care team to implement personalised care plans and promote a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • Support residents with medication administration following prescribed care plans
  • Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the senior staff promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
  • Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers where applicable, demonstrating leadership qualities
  • Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure holistic care delivery
  • Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a care home or senior care environment is desirable, especially with supervising responsibilities or leadership roles
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents' outings or appointments
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of care plans, health & safety protocols, and safeguarding procedures
  • IT literacy for maintaining accurate documentation and using organisational systems effectively
  • Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: From £12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
