Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about senior care and looking to make a positive difference in people's lives. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with the care team to implement personalised care plans and promote a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed care plans
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the senior staff promptly
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers where applicable, demonstrating leadership qualities
- Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure holistic care delivery
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems as required
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or senior care environment is desirable, especially with supervising responsibilities or leadership roles
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents' outings or appointments
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety protocols, and safeguarding procedures
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate documentation and using organisational systems effectively
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Pay: From £12.80 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
