We are a 44-bed residential home in the Mannanead area of Plymouth. We are looking for enthusiastic person to join our team as a Senior Care Assistant.

We currently have vacancies for two experienced Senior Care Assistants to complement our team.
- As a senior care assistant you will support the Home Manager in all aspects of the homes management and deliver the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct care and effective support and supervision of staff members.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Help to ensure that all care and ancillary staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home.
- Assist service users who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet, be informed about all residents in the home, ensure that all information is correct and up to date.
- Carry out medication administration, ensure that stock levels are correct. Liaise with Pharmacies and GP surgeries.
- Help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment, make referrals when necessary.
- Liaise with GP and other multi-disciplinary agencies.
- Allocate staff member to support new admissions.
- Assist service users at mealtimes if required.
- Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone; greet visitors.
- Ensuring a clear and concise handover report is given to all relevant staff members at the end of each shift.
- Check diary for information and act on necessary requirements.
- Take part in staff meetings and also in training activities as directed.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as may be required.
- Support to cover additional hours, as and when required.

**Shift Times**:

- 08:00-2000
- 08:00-14:00
- 14:00-20:00

**Experience**:

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
- providing care: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.40 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 42 per week

**Experience**:

- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
