, overseeing cleaning and housekeeping services across our hospital sites and supporting the leadership team to maintain high standards of patient safety, staff wellbeing, and hygiene.
Location:
Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust sites
Salary:
£31,336 - £38,357 per annum (depending on experience).
Most new starters join at the base to maintain consistency across the team.
Contract:
Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, between 07:00 and 19:00 on a rota basis)
What You'll Do
Lead and manage domestic and housekeeping services across GMS sites.
Ensure compliance with healthcare cleanliness, infection prevention, and health & safety standards.
Recruit, develop, and support a large, diverse workforce.
Manage budgets and resources effectively to meet operational KPIs.
Conduct audits and risk assessments, driving continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively with infection control teams, senior managers, and other key stakeholders.
Respond proactively to operational challenges and ensure excellent service delivery.
What We're Looking For
Proven leadership experience managing large teams in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities services – preferably in healthcare.
Operational management skills, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
Knowledge of hygiene, infection control, and health & safety standards, particularly within healthcare settings.
Experience managing budgets and controlling resources effectively to achieve operational KPIs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging with staff at all levels, patients, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with auditing, reporting, and risk assessment processes, with a track record of implementing improvements.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset – resilient, professional, and adaptable.

This position is with Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
As such, this role does not fall under NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Terms and Conditions. Pay, benefits, annual leave, and other entitlements, including maternity, paternity, and sick pay, are set by GMS and differ from those offered under NHS contracts.
