Finance Manager – Commercial
Location: York (Office-based with hybrid working)
Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week

Following the establishment of a new subsidiary delivering facilities management services, we are expanding our finance team. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to help drive financial excellence and operational efficiency across the Group.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, and managing a team of three, you will play a key role in:
- Delivering accurate and timely management and statutory financial reporting for the Group's commercial entities.
- Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, particularly within accounts payable, ensuring robust controls and efficient processes.
- Acting as a strategic finance partner to the wider business, translating financial data into actionable insights that guide operational and commercial decisions.
- You'll work closely with managers across departments to help them understand their cost drivers, control budgets, and improve financial performance – fostering collaboration, clarity, and trust across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements.
- Day to day management of accounts payable team of three, maintaining strong processes and controls.
- Attend Board meetings & partner with operational teams to provide financial analysis and guidance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Assist with the audit process and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, HMRC, suppliers, and payroll providers.
About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in management reporting, process improvement, and team leadership.
