Role: Finance Business Partner

Location: Coventry (office-based at least 3 days per week)

Pay Rate: £450–£500 per day (inside IR35)

Duration: 4 months initially

My client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Business Partner to support the organisation through a critical period of financial activity. This is a hands-on role requiring someone confident in business partnering, financial reporting, and providing actionable insight to drive performance and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner:

  • Act as a trusted partner to operational teams, providing financial insight, challenge, and support for strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful analysis for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Lead and support month-end close, ensuring accurate reporting, variance analysis, and commentary against budget and forecast.
  • Prepare and review journals, accruals, and prepayments; maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving reconciling items promptly.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling to guide planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify risks, opportunities, and cost efficiencies.
  • Contribute to business cases, investment appraisals, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong background in management accounting, financial reporting, and business partnering.
  • Proven ability to deliver insight and drive performance using large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting to senior teams.
  • Commercially focused, with experience in utilities, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industries preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and strong financial systems knowledge.
