Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, cooking etc.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition is maintained.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies as needed for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Document daily activities and any changes in the client's condition accurately.

Experience

  • Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of first aid procedures is beneficial; certification is preferred.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients as required.
