Vida Supported Living is a CQC registered care provider. We provide local authorities with all aspects of bespoke care packages. Including, but not limited to, Supported Living, community support and domiciliary care.
We are in need of experienced support workers to join our team in Crowborough, East Sussex. To provide support to one service user in our supported living accommodation for them. This is a part time shift role, you will be employed directly by Vida Supported Living.
Role Description: Join Our Team as a Learning Disability Support Worker
Location: Crowborough, East Sussex, TN6.
Salary: £12.21 per hour, PAYE, paid a week in arrears.
Hours: Shifts from 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00, two to four times a week.
Contract: Shift work - Driver preferred.

What will you be doing? As a Support Worker, you'll be more than just their support – you'll be a key part of someone's journey towards living their best life. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Develop and implement personalised care plans based on individual needs and aspirations.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Nurture a supportive and empathetic environment to address emotional and psychological needs.
- Encourage and engage individuals in activities that promote social interaction and personal development.
- Facilitate skill-building activities to enhance independence and self-confidence.
- Provide guidance and encouragement for the individual to learn and practice essential life skills.
- Maintain clear and open communication with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Advocate for the individual to ensure their voice is heard and respected in decision-making processes.
- Ensure a safe and secure living environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Monitor and address any health concerns, promptly reporting and collaborating with healthcare professionals when needed.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of care activities, progress, and any incidents.
- Provide regular updates to the team, supervisors and family, on the well-being and development of the individual.
- Stay informed about advancements in the field of mental health and attend relevant training sessions.
Who you will be Supporting?
Our client is a 40-year female with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's Syndrome / Autism). She has learning disabilities combined with language disorder. She is fun, very fit/sporty and physically active. She has views and opinions, enjoys conversations, has a great sense of humour. We will part of team taking her out into the community in the evening/night time on a 2:1 basis. Driving her to various locations for planned activities and workshops.
Essential requirements
- Minimum 12 months UK based care experience
- Enhanced DBS check
- Valid Mandatory training
- Fluent English/good communication skills
- Two professional references
- Valid drivers licence and car (the company will pay for your personal business insurance)
