Business Change Manager – CMDB & Change

Key Responsibilities

  • CMDB Accuracy & Completeness
  • Ensure the CMDB reflects accurate and complete configuration item (CI) data.
  • Establish governance and quality controls for CI lifecycle management.
  • Drive remediation activities to correct data inconsistencies and gaps.
  • Change Management Oversight
  • Align change processes with ITIL best practices to minimize risk and disruption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of change initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on change success rates, failures, and improvement opportunities.
  • Cloud Visibility & Automation
  • Enhance CMDB visibility across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
  • Implement automated discovery tools to capture CI data in real time.
  • Integrate cloud tagging standards to improve traceability and governance.
  • CI Deduplication & Data Quality
  • Lead initiatives to identify and eliminate duplicate CIs.
  • Define and enforce data standards for CI attributes.
  • Establish automated workflows for CI validation and reconciliation.
  • Tagging & Metadata Improvement
  • Develop tagging frameworks to improve asset classification and reporting.
  • Ensure consistent application of tags across on‑prem and cloud environments.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on tagging best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
  • Partner with IT operations, service owners, and business units to align CMDB and change objectives.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership.
  • Drive adoption of improved processes across the organisation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in IT Service Management (ITSM), particularly CMDB and Change Management.
  • Hands‑on experience with discovery and automation tools (ServiceNow Discovery, BMC Helix, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tagging practices.
  • Expertise in data quality management, CI lifecycle, and remediation processes.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and change governance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Job Types: Permanent, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £70,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
