Imagine stepping into a role where the work you do each day genuinely transforms a child's future.
As a Night Residential Support Worker at Young Care Hub, that's the difference you'll make. Whether you come with experience or are ready to embrace a new and purposeful challenge, this is your opportunity to have a lasting impact on children who need steadfast care, guidance, and hope.
Your Day-to-Day
Every day brings something new. You'll help create routines filled with enjoyment, learning, and emotional support for the children in your care at our brand new therapeutic children's residential home in Hemel Hempstead.
Within our children's home we will provide care and support for 2 children of any gender with emotional behavioural difficulties between the ages of 8 and 17 years.
Ready to Make a Difference?
Take on a role that's purposeful, enriching, and ever-changing. With just 10–11 waking night shifts each month, you'll have the space to flourish in your own life while leaving a lasting, positive mark on the lives of young people.
Duties
As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker at Young Care Hub you'll play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children through the night - creating a peaceful, nurturing environment where they feel safe, seen, and supported.
You'll provide calm, consistent care through the night, checking in on children, offering reassurance if they wake, and supporting any overnight needs. You'll also complete light household tasks, write accurate logs, and help with the morning routine before handover to the day team.
You'll usually be the sole waking staff member on shift, with sleep-in colleagues on site and a supportive, trauma-informed culture around you.
What you will receive:
- Base salary of between £25,350 per annum - £27,350 per annum.
- Condensed shifts
- 5.6 weeks annual leave.
- Additional paid day off for your birthday.
- A thorough induction and six-month welcome program.
- Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
- Discounts on high street brands, restaurants, and more.
- Auto-enrolled company pension.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable, although full training any qualifications will be provided
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record is preferred
- Knowledge of child development and care planning processes
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with children, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's growth and wellbeing
- Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating patience, reliability, and organisational skills
