Schedule: Waking nights on a rolling rota

About the Role
We are a family-run, 4-bed children's residential home providing care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to ensure the safety, stability, and wellbeing of the children in our care throughout the night. Your role will be essential in maintaining a calm, secure environment and supporting continuity of care between night and day teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent emotional and practical support during night hours
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and security of all children in the home
- Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
- Complete regular checks and maintain accurate logs and records
- Work collaboratively with the daytime team to ensure seamless care
- Follow safeguarding procedures and implement individual care plans effectively
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in residential childcare or EBD settings (preferred)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (preferred)
- Calm, observant, and empathetic, especially under pressure
- Strong communication and record-keeping abilities
- Able to work independently and remain alert throughout the night
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
